could be mange. common symptoms are hair loss, itching, and inflammation. Mange is cause by mites that are not visible to the eye. patches of hair loss is common. U can treat this by shampoos or see ur vet.
it could be a number of things. take him to the vet would be the best and safe choice.
It sounds like just hot spots. You can go to a pet store or even Wal-Mart and buy over the counter stuff for hot spots. My dog gets them from time to time. I don’t know what causes it, but it heals up and the hair comes back.
it really doesn’t matter what WE think- take him to the vet & get him treated & on a flea preventative
If he has fleas it is probably flea bite dermatitis – am allergic reaction to the bite. Could also be demodex mange – something they pick up from their mother (don’t worry you can’t get it).
How old is he? What does the person who you bought him from say? Do any of the other pups in his litter have it?
Get him to the vet and find out what it is and get it ttreated before it becomes a serious skin infection.
Sounds like Mange.
My dog also had the same symptoms, it turned out to be a thyroid condition, the vet prescribed meds, all is well now. Hope this helps.
mang .. !!! mang can killl get him checked by the vet
it could be stress to
Well it could be a lot of things but the vet would no best so take him to the vet and let the vet tell you what to do about it.
Sounds like Mange. Give it a bath in head lice shampoo instead of giving the vet an arm and a leg unnecessarily.
Its 100% safe and effective.
It could be ring worm or dermatitis from fleas but the best thing to do is go to a vet and let them find out for sure and get your baby on medicine to get him well., good luck always,,,, Shelly
It is probably due to the fleas. I would give him a good bath with oatmeal shampoo and then, when he dries, treat him for the fleas with Advantage, Frontline, or K-9 Advantage. Be sure to treat his living quarters and anywhere he spends time ie…couch, rugs, and bed sheets for fleas.
He could also have allergies. If his hair doesn’t start to come back (in about a month) after treating his flea problem, make an appointment with the vet to have a check-up. He can check him for allergies and give him a shot to help stop the itching. If they are raised, red and circular in shape take him to the vet ASAP as it could be ring worm which is highly contagious to humans and other pets.
Good luck!
it could be different things, but your best bet to find out what it is take the dog to the vet and have a check up.
The best thing (of course) is take him in to vet to see the spots. Without seeing them nobody can tell you for sure what they are.
Mange lesions are usually itchy, on the limbs, tail, or face. They are usually red and raised as well.
Other possibilities could be a thyroid problem ( although usually these are symmetrical), some other metabolic disorders, ringworm, allergies (these are usually itchy as well).
It could be a variety of things.
First things first, if he has fleas you should treat him for them ASAP using some sort of topical shampoo. If his bald spots are open, the avoid them with the flea shampoo, as it tends to be more abrasive.
Frontline or Advantage won’t help if he already has fleas, they are preventative measures.
I use EQyss products for the animals I take care of with skin problems. The best thing I’ve found to help a bad skin situation is a weekly bathing with the shampoo and then followed up with the anti-hotspot spray or gel that you can use directly on the problem areas.

Also sometimes a change in diet can help. Try using a formula with less additives and fillers. I use Lamaderm for my border collie at home and it’s really helped.

Could be a skin irritation?
My dog had the same thing, except his butt was the only thing losing hair.My dad ended up taking him to a shelter.
Sounds Like Demodex (Mange) Pretty common with this type of dog. How old is your dog? If its just a pup it may pass once his immune system is fully developed. Sometimes pups immune systems have a hard time keeping the amount of demodex mites in the hair follicles under control. If the dog is older I would start by getting him some doggy vitamins and seeing if that helps. If the vitamins don’t work and it is indeed mange prepare yourself for a bit of a battle. My dog needed 2 months of treatments (shampoo/conditioner/ and 5 different meds daily) It was time consuming expensive and frutsturating but we beat it and it was totally worth it. Good luck! Try some Immune sytem bolstering vitamins 1st before heading to the vet.
he really needs to be check out..may need flea bath and flee stuff…may need some vitamins for his coat to come back
my guss is pork dont give your dog any pork even bacon greese all dogs are allergic to pork if the dont break out on the outside they do on the inside most people dont know this even some vets dont know this but it is true please dont give your dog any pork products and these spots will go away
